Heated grip part numbers
« on: July 19, 2015, 11:43:57 AM »

Looking for the part numbers for both heated grips from the 2011 CVO Ultra. If anybody has the parts book and can post the numbers it would be greatly appreciated. Want to add them to the bike when I change the bars.

Thanks
Mike

Look parts up here Mike.  Very handy online tool from a dealership.

Another here:

Those are both so handy I buy a little from them as time goes by even though they aren't cheapest.  Just to be appreciative of their keeping those parts lookups online.

The lady that owns Granite State is the one that gave Chappy his money back on his Springer with Sidecar after the previous owner screwed him. Natasha is a stand up lady and quite the looker too.  That's her on the right, looks like she may be at Duanes :huepfenlol2:

I bought the heated grips from Harley Davidson, part numbers listed above, and opened the box but there are no installation instructions. Anyone had this experience before? Any idea where I can find instructions? Putting them on 09 FLTRSE3.

The heated grip kits in the catalog come with instructions, but if you just order the individual replacement part numbers from a production model you don't get instructions.  Go to the Harley online catalog, find one of the heated grip kits that claims to fit the 2009, and on the page for that kit there should be a tab that says more info.  Click on it and there should be a link to a pdf for the instructions.

As best I can tell, the 2009 FLTRSE3 did not come with the wiring already in the harness for the heated grips, so you will need to wire them as per the instructions for the add-on kits.  I'm attaching one such set of instructions to this post as a pdf - click on it to open.

Since the 2009 isn't already wired for the grips, you may want to check the catalog and see if you can find the same kind of grips in a kit form.  The kits run about $269 MSRP, which is usually less than ordering the production replacement parts.  Either way, it's not going to be a plug and play installation.
