How do you prep a new microfiber polishing applicator pad. Don't believe you start dry. Seems that might scratch the surface.
I was told to wash the towels before use. Is this correct.

B...I usually wash the cloths just to get all the crap out of them from the manufacturing process, just like I do all my clothes when I buy 'em. The micro covered sponge applicator pads usually come packaged, so I don't worry so much about them as I'm putting a wet product on from the get-go. The dry pad won't hurt a thing...

And where do we get these at ?? Are both the foam applicators and the micro applicators the same you are talking about??

When washing the clothes, DO NOT use fabric softener sheets when drying.
The clothes will perform much better without them. I've heard that the drying sheets leave a residue that might scratch and smear while detailing.

The applicator looks like a regular applicator for applying way but made from microfiber material.
The towel looks like a ...........towel.

Grover, do you not use the drying towels at all? Seems like the only thing different from a regular microfiber towel is there size.

Very true, Grover...I wash all my microfiber cloths seperately from any other clothes, in fact. And I never put the drying sheets in there when drying them. I've been told the same thing you have, so don't take any chances.

Don't use the liquid either. Smear for sure.

I have the same problem with the light blue ones from Sams club. The ones I have from Wizards are much better quality and don't stick to my hands, but more expensive.

I do the same thing TC. Then I put them in an air tight rubbermaid container, separate the paint & metal clothes, and use each one once for each particular application then in to the wash bucket they go.

Mine do the same thing.........all of them.......the ones I bought at AutoZone and the ones I ordered from Glare. And about those applicator pads. how the he!! does one was the darn things? They float!!!!! Other than washing them by hand, is there a better way?

I do that too........I even go so far as to use a different applicator pad and cloth for Micro, Spider and Pro-polish. Needless to say, I have a big Rubbermaid container and a growing collection of microfiber clothes. The old 100% terry towels and old 100% T-Shirt pieces have been relegated to oil changes on the cages. That means I'm set for Dickies rags for awhile.
