2015 CVO SG Here and I am on my 3rd right rear speaker.  Second time I took it in they the dealer said crossed wires in one of the harnesses.  That lasted about 6-9 Mo, but same right rear speaker is shot again.

I have a friend who has had at least 3 new speakers in his right saddle bag and two in his left.  18 CVO Street Glide.  Vendor knows there is an issue according to HD.  An improved version is due out in the next few weeks.

Wow, I’m looking for rear speaker alternatives right now. I blew my left rear 3 weeks ago and now the right one is gone. Frustrations on a brand new bike!

Blew the woofer in my left saddlebag speaker last week while on vacay. Called my local dealer when I returned home and he said that they are on back order until the 10th.....or so. He also agreed with what Dave said. So I'll hurry up and wait and probably stick with stock until the warranty is gone.
I did have great success with Bill at Biketronics on my last bike.

Get away from the Harley crap. And that's exactly what it is. Hybrid audio is very good. Hell... I'd put Rockford in before the hd junk. I buy from soundz. Good stuff and he has many levels to choose from. My HD  junk came out of my bike within a month I had it.   Stuart

Agree with all on how disappointing the stock speakers are.  Have thought about swapping out but I do have to admit HD did a pretty good job on balancing the sound between the front and rear, when it works right it produces a nice enveloping sound.  My concern is that putting in decent after markets in the fear will completely disrupt this balance, and over ride the fronts.  Completely scrapping all the speakers and amps is way too much money, would look at replacing just the rears. Would love to just find some decent plug and play rear speakers.

Thoughts from those that just replaced the rears?

Some cvo junk is only one amp. So if that is what you have there won't be much to choose from.  Hybrid audio makes a very good 5x7,      but I believe that it is 4ohm. Another reason to put in a good amp that won't fail. Until you do it properly with a good amp, you will never be happy. Just saying.

So far my replacements have been HD speakers thru warranty. I just started conversations with my audio guy on other options. He is talking about replacing the amps and speakers. I don’t know what that will do to the balance.

Rather sad how we spend more for a CVO to get the extra "goodies", but then have to spend even more to replace those items with acceptable quality items from the aftermarket.  It makes me think people would be better off doing it the old fashioned way, buying a base model and adding the accessories they actually want from a quality source.   :nixweiss:

Btw, I find it somewhat revealing that in decades of buying or driving cars with the premium sound systems I've never once experienced a speaker or amp failure.

I totally agree! I went that route with my last bike. No CVO last time and put an after market stereo from the jump.

FYI...the ESP doesn’t cover speakers.
Replaced my speakers on my 15 SG with Biketronics.  Lifetime warranty

Jerry is right. I don't look at buying a cvo as a good investment. A3 year old bike isn't bringing anything like it should. Perhaps a good way to go is buy a non cvo. Then there will be lots left over to buy something important like a good aftermarket audio system.  So many failures on a bike that costs 40 something thousand really pisses me off.  Jut saying.   Stuart.
