I just put my new tire on my bike after it has been off the bike a few months and I forgot which way the grooved axle spacer goes on the left side of the wheel ?

From what I can recall. I believe that the spacer has a taper on one end that allows it to start into the seal with out damaging it.

So which way should it be? Could you look on your bike? I have the manual and also one on CD and there is no mention which way it goes other than it belongs on the left side?

FWIW When I pulled the collar off I looked it closley and it is the same either way. I suspect that the groove on it is to show that its the one for the left side. Also there is no mention of direction mentioned in the manual.
