Title: Sticky compression releases
Post by: uawman on April 21, 2010, 08:22:30 AM
I just bought a 05 SEEG and the owner had installed compression releases.  I like them except they have a tendacy to stick causing me to reach down and pull the top of the release up.  It's no big deal but I'm sure there has to be a better way.  I think some sort of lubricant would work but I'm not sure of what.  Any answers or suggestions?

They have to be cleaned periodically and they will be fine, most of them. We use AV&V and they have been very reliable. Size of the orifice in the head matters too.

Carb cleaner and compressed air. If the knobs are plastic take that off.

Like Don said, carb cleaner or brake-kleen works well. :)
