Title: Not paying attention
Post by: mslcpa on October 09, 2021, 06:48:07 PM
While checking my engine oil, I mistakenly added a couple of ounces of Amsoil primary lubricant (containers look alike) to the crankcase. Any issue here?

I would probably dump it all out and start again.    But that's just me.    If I take chances that don't make sense to me, I start thinking too much. 😩. Stuart

Remember that HD puts the same fluid (engine oil, though) in all 3 holes.

That said, the AMSoil primary lube  (and others too) probably doesn't offer as much protection against acidity, water-based corrosion, and particulates as the engine oil does.  If it was only a couple ounces, I wouldn't worry; more than 4 oz in 3 qts or 6 oz in 4 qts, and I would change the oil when it gets to about half of the usual time or mileage you normally use.
