Title: changing dash light color and showing DTE
Post by: wing_nut on November 08, 2021, 07:12:27 PM
can the dash light colors on a 2014 cvo road king be changed? i went to youtube and watched a couple videos, but the road king doesnt have an acc switch position like the other models shown.  i tried holding both turn signals with switch in run position to see if that worked but didnt do anything.  from some specs i read, it says the 14 cvo dash lights can be changed, but i cant find any instructions on how to do so.

also, i thought i remember seeing a post on here showing a way to keep distance to empty shown at all times on the LCD screen, but i cant find the post again.

Yes, you can change the color of the 13 and 14 CVO road king dash lights.  Several years ago I changed mine to blue.  I can not remember how to do it, and traded the bike this September so I no longer have the owners manual.

Agree with Dave, yes it can be done, both the backlight color as well as the needle color and they can be different colors.  I followed the owners manual years ago and changed mine...just follow your manual.

Who would have thought to use the manual.  A lost art no doubt.

bike didn't have manual when i bought it and wasn't able to find one online to purchase.  wasn't aware you could view the manual and other documents by entering vin number on harley website.  i figured it out though.....no need to be a smart @ss
