I don't have a bushtec trailer, but I did order the bushtec hidden hitch for my SERG and here is the final product with the Autolink installed and ready for travel to Sturgis this year. Yahoo!!! :2vrolijk_21:

here's a piece of metal I had made to duplicate the same angle as the stock bushtec hidden hitch which slides up into the hidden hitch.

See the resemblance in the angle of the receiver inserts.

Autolinks off the bike.

Nice job, hauling clubs or rifles? LOL

One last picture which shows the adapter going from the bushtec 6 flat to a 5 flat wiring plug for the added lights on the Autolinks.

Hope you're not hanging much weight directly off the ass end of the bike. Also, just in case you'd missed it, either your stop-bolt or its lock nut (or both) isn't run up all the way.

Great work, Jim! Curious though:
What does the rig weigh?
What is the capacity?
How does it affect capacity?
Why this over a trailer?
Inquiring minds....

I decided to snap those pictures as I was taking the rig off the bike, so that's why the stop bolt was loose. I was going to use the autolink for light weight bulky stuff, so I can keep the front tire down ;D

Hi Greg,
The rig only weighs about 15 Ibs and the capacity varies depending on which lid you use. The autolinks you see in the pictures I posted actually belongs to a friend of mind (who doesn't own a HD nor does he have the bushtec hitch), and he insisted I try it out. I am impressed and it's very aerodynamic. I think for some light weight bulky stuff, this should do the trick just fine. I would love to have a trailer, but I would probably not use it much and the cost per trip would be fairly high. However, there may be one in my future someday. I wish I could just rent a bushtec trailer as needed, which wouldn't be very often. They seem to be a fine product. Jim
