Title: Left rear light housing rattles
Post by: sem_bunda on May 20, 2010, 04:53:44 PM
Anyone had trouble with the rear light housings rattling?  My OEM left rear housing/insert is rattling bad enough that I can hear it over the pipes when I'm solo or two up.  I have tried poking and prodding all I can and can't find anything loose.  It still feels and looks snug against the fender, and lights work fine.  Before I take to the dealer to make them poke and prod, any suggestions?

Isn't it plastic on plastic with light steel clamp-downs?  Start poking and prodding elsewhere.  Ride Safe

I think you are describing the same issue I had, the rear left fender/bag filler rattles around 2600-3000 rpm. HDDOCFL suggested "Spray some lube on the rubber muffler hanger." I sprayed some WD40 on the rubber hanger and the rattle disappeared, give it a try it works.
