well the CVO case once bored will leave a small amount of the o-ring groove and it can leak. It uses a flat base gasket but is not fully supported,  So you can weld the case them machine flat then bore. So that is taken care of. The next issue is the 117 kit from S&S it will come with Wiseco pistons ( not going to get into this) but we do not like them. and its nominal bored. so buy then un finished then bore and hone the kit buy custom pistons . As well you have removed more case material and in the past we have had some issues with studs pulling out of the stock case. the materiel was less than what it should have been.

So the drop on kit allows you to bypass that.  :2vrolijk_21:

Steve, if you find the cylinders are tapered or out of round, I assume you can over bore, but then you'll need new pistons.  What are your options then?

well a steel liner is not like the iron that is in the stock units. Steel liners in cylinders are far from new in other applications. If anything I would see is that the spigot may be a tad tight,  IF needed yes it will get a light hone to ensure that the taper is a on issue and roundness is corrected. Will know more when I have them in my hand.

Do you know if the cylinders can be bought separately or do you have to buy the entire kit?

yes you can buy the 117 kit with pistons as a stand alone kit

16.1 and we will run it on E 85 and a meth kit  ha ha .. :P

 I look more to CCP than comp but 195-200 CCP works great and that is 10.7- with the GMR 600  cam

Kits 92500050 (Black) and 92500051(Silver) are the cylinder, piston, wrist pin, rings, badges bolt on. One of the on line discounters I've used in the past quoted me $ 1,179.69 plus shipping this morning. Not in stock at the dealer, but available.
