110 cometic bottom gasket
« on: October 17, 2008, 10:39:54 AM »

U guys that have bought and fitted axtel jugs write that u have installed the HD oring and the cometic base gasket together and torqued to rerquirements of axtel, Is there a reason why this cometic gasket cant be fitted with the original Hd jugs with the new square oring?
The extra thickness of gasket would give less compression?

Axtell cylinders, cometic lower gasket and original style o-rings assembled together on the red bike.  As per Axtell's instructions.  Assembly was done well before the new shaped sealing ring existed so no ability to even suggest comparisons to its use.  Would suggest asking Axtell.  Chaz usually seems on the ball when asked for information.

My gut feel is the square gaskets will not fit the relief in the Cometic base gasket and would not work - but -

I agree with TwoLane - Chaz is knowledgeable and friendly - I'd give him a call and ask...

thanks for ur input guys,

would anybody consider to fit the cometic without the square oring or do we think the square oring solves the seepage from the base of the jug?  09s appear leak free up to now, right!
