I picked up my bike last night after the dealer completed the 0906 fix.  I asked them at least 4 times while they had the bike to check the cylinder liners for movement before they put it back together because this is the third time in for leaks. When I picked up the bike I asked them if they checked the liners. The mechanic said these cylinders had no liners. He said the bike was fine because he drove it 80 miles and no leaks. I told him I had driven it 1000 miles before the first leak started. Oh well.
Anyway when I got home I noticed that besides the new top end gasket set and O-rings, they replaced a roller bearing and cam chain tensioner. Anybody else have this done as part of the recall?
2007 Dyna FXD with dealer installed 110 kit.
Glad I got the 7 yr warranty.

That's interesting, wonder where the 3 hour difference comes from.  The main difference between the two is new heads for 0905...the heads have to be taken off to replace the gaskets anyway.  I just re-read my 0905 letter and it states that the MoCo has established a time rate of "...less than 6 hours to complete."  So not sure where they came up with the extra 3 hours.  :nixweiss:

You got that right.  Not sure why a dealer would pad more hours though.  The MoCo is only going to reimburse them for the 6 hours, unless they find other warranted items that needed to be repaired/replaced, but those would be counted against the hours that the MoCo states for those repairs.  So, from what I understand on how the MoCo reimburses the dealers, if a dealer does 9 hours for a job the MoCo says takes six, the dealer sucks up those three hours of labor.

I believe that's true. This discussion took place based on the premise of the documentation differences; in terms of the length of the checklist the techs received from the MOCO in regards to the upgrade. The service writer suggests that this checklist is more involved than just replacing ACR's and gaskets. I'm curious to see this checklist, not that it makes a difference. Just from a curiosity standpoint.

I'm with you on that Howie.  I'd like to see the difference in the checklists...like I said they're basically the same mod except 0905 adds the new heads, but the heads have to be removed anyway and put back on to perform 0906.  Weird man, really weird... :)
