« on: April 19, 2010, 09:35:24 PM »

On my first  trip from california since retirement. Got blasted by a blue hair as I was turning into service station. 2008 RK CVO not good, rear fender wraped under tire, me playing transported to hospital ,road rash and sore shoulder and hip. Wearing that hemet. Anybody know of good Stealer in this area?

sgtbuck,
I am sorry to hear of your collision but, glad to hear you were not seriously injured.

The closest dealer to Cottonwood is:
Grand Canyon H-D
320 State Route 89A
Sedona, AZ
Phone (928) 204-0020

Speaking from personal experience, Buddy Stubbs has two locations in the Phoenix valley.  I have dealt with his Cave Creek Road location many times, having always experienced stellar service.  Though I am not as familiar with his Anthem location, it would be closer to Cottonwood:

Buddy Stubbs - Anthem H-D
41715 North 41st Drive
Anthem, AZ 85086
Phone (623) 465-1122

Here's hoping you bounce back fast!

Take care,
Charlie

I've tried most of them and find I get the best service from Superstition HD out in Apache Junction.  They came to my office picked up my bike and delivered it back at close of business.  I was sold forever.

Sorry to hear about your crash, glad your alright, some people just don't watch for bikes but blue hairs do tend to be more prone to run your a$$ over.

Come down to Buddy Stubbs in Anthem (North of PHX on I17). Ask for Matt or Bill. I also have a good Bro that works at the local shop there in Cottonwood that can help if needed.(Randy) He is certified HD.

I'm happy you are OK as well.  I hope you heal quickly and can ride again soon.

sgtbuck,

Very sorry about you and the bike.  I'm sure it could have been a lot worse.  Glad you're going to be OK!

Sgt Buck,

Not much you can do in that situation short of towing one of those big signs with arrows the highway worker trucks use...then again, they get ran into sometimes too!

Harleys are notorious for not having enough lighting in the rear.  It's beyond me why the MoCo insists on lighting the front turn signals and not the rear...criminal on their part...no excuse!

Do you use anything to augment your brake/turn signals?  If not, look into the Kuryakyn run-flash-break plug and play module.  I started using one in Germany where these fools come up on you at 130+ mph at night.  That little red brake light just doesn't do it!

What service did you just retire from?  Mil/police?

Best of luck

Thanks everyone for your well wishes, SERK is totaled but at least they gave me 28 k for her and took off a few parts they didn't know were on it. Thanks to Pete at Grand Canyon Harley in Mayer, Az...great guy. Now the search begins for the new scoot......thinking about waiting for the the 11's to come out. Still limping so I can wait awhile.
