harley dealership told me today that if i put fairing on serk i will need to have adjustments made to forks to support the extra weight. also bike might wobble at interstate speeds. anyone know anything about this? think dealership blowing smoke?

NO , The fairng doesnt cause any vibration or weight problems to the bike, at least in my situation. I think Harley was blowing smoke up your a--
While cruising to Tomahawk at speeds over 100mph , in some locations, never had any problem. Matter of fact it was fantastic. (03 serk), Ken

I said this on another post somewhere. If you ride in an area with strong crosswinds, you're gonna feel it a lot in the handlebars. Especially in an area like San Diego county where you come down from 4,200 ft to sea level and the desert floor. The wind howls up the canyons because of the temp difference.  BUT it's not any different than what you'd feel riding an Electra Glide. The dealer is blowing smoke up your ass about your front end. As far as I know, there's no difference between the front end of an RK and an EG - - -Take the narcelle off an RK and the fairing off an EG and what's left is the same.

You can cross-check the p/n's for RK Vs RG or EG's, very little difference. Adding the bat wing changes the dynamics of the front end in the wind, it has to. Improves it in some ways but also offers more resistance when running in side drafts. Over all I'd say the dealer is blowin.

Nice lookin seat, from Alligator Bob's or ?

Now those little ridgebacks on the passenger seat must do some things for them not to be discussed on this forum.  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Im new here, I heard of your site from Grover yesturday. I also have a 2003 serk with a dragonfly faring . I got it in Sturgis this past year, Its been a great addition to my bike. No pics of it with faring yet but can be seen at alligator bobs site, with brown saddle bags and seat, not sure what tac you have but, mine also has tac and they offer faring that goes right over it, no need to remove on 03 model

Hi there Ken. It's great to see you've joined [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] You'll feel right at home here with all the cvo/ocd going on. I'm getting photos ready of my SEEG to get down to Bob's artist. By the way, thanks for the walk through the shop. You sold Lynn & I on an awesome idea for a custom seat...job well done!

Take care,

Grover
