What Doc said. Make all the mods you want, personalize to your heart's content but don't expect the next guy to pay you for any of it. I don't think many of us are in it for the money anyway but box stock unmolested (or able to be put back that way) will always give you your greatest return. After all, it can be a virgin only once.

Thanks to all who had input & photos to help resolve this issue. By the way, the parts manual drawing doesn't show the "Harley Davidson" imprint in the backrest pad - had I ordered & got a plain one I'd never have been the wiser.
Thanks to the watchful members of this forum I'm now the owner of a mint correct pad.
