Wow I do not post on this part of the board even when I just went down 2 months ago.

I had a subordinate at work who was a GREAT FIREFIGHTER and a GREAT PERSON. There have been a lot of problems on the job caused by the Management. Employees were having a hard time getting any leave and being held over because of lack of Manpower. My Buddy finally got some leave and took it. He was out riding and just unwinding when a cage driver made the dreaded left hand turn in front of him. He hit the car pretty hard sending both occupants in the car to the hospital. Unfortunately he did not survive. This just kills me!!!! I get to bury him on the 4th.

So sorry to hear this news. All of these senseless deaths are heartbreaking, but it's so much harder when it's a friend...

Sorry for the loss of your friend. And I say friend because they are few and far between. You call him a subordinate but we know better. Left turn in front of a motorcycle is always bad and I didn't see them is not a comforting statement. We as riders need to be alert to the dummies in cages and we in cages need to be alert of the almost dummies on motorcycles. It's called tit for tat. I didn't mean to get off track but I did.

So sad to read this. My condolences to you for the tragic loss of your friend, and to his family.

This kind of thing seems to be happening more and more. It's just very sad.

Thanks Gary. That is what THE BROTHERHOOD is all about. The Family is hanging tough through this one. It is always bad to lose someone, but this Man too was Family. I have just lost another BROTHER to cancer yesterday. It is going to be a long 5 days to say the least. If I feel the need you know I will call, even if it is just to vent.

The DCFD Family is a very close knit group, especially when times like this arise.

Another senseless death, these are far too frequent these days. Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend, and best wishes and sympathy to his family. He risks his life to save others, and then goes out this way. Damn shame.
