WO513 baby apes on my 2013 CVO Road King Chubby handlebars
« on: January 15, 2014, 06:52:23 PM »

Wild 1 Chubby WO513 8.5" baby apes in chrome with adapter (bars are 1" in the center). Some photos to check out will post after a bit. So, I got my new bars in the mail today and went straight to installation.  :)  I started at noon and stopped at 530...( I am not done )  :-\ . The hydraulic lines are for sure long enough. The wiring is coming up a little short, but I hope it will work out in the end. It was much easier putting heritage style bars on the '12 Road King. That project was only about 3 hours from start to finish. Anyway, if anyone has any tips for the final reassembly I am all ears. I have already ran the left wiring thru the bars.  ;D

New bars on, but I am still not finished. They are just positioned so I can check fit and such.. At this point the wiring has been ran thru the bars, but now I have to reinstall the end into the connectors. I sure gave myself a project. But, It's All Good  ;D

Thank you... and  ;D DONE!!! I will get a few pics and upload them soon. I have a few things I want to post about my "project" that could help someone if they tackle this job too. New bars are great so far! 30 miles is not enough to really decide, but I do like them already  :2vrolijk_21:

Did you have to add some on the wiring?

I did not have to add any wiring. The wiring was definitely shortened after running thru the new bars, but it was just enough to work with. IMO, you would not have enough wiring for the 10" bars. On the 10" bars, I would say the hydraulic lines and throttle wiring would be long enough, but not the other wiring for the cruise, ipod, turn signals and such.
Disassembly and reassembly of the connectors was the most time consuming part of the swap.
