Pre. surgery check not good
« Reply #24 on: March 13, 2014, 05:49:20 PM »

Today I went in for a check over prepping for my knee surgery on the 15th.
Well it didn't go over so well. Over a year to get to this point. After all the checking and probing they came back to me and said they have found that my juice pumper has a flutter/jumping/skiping irregular beat. To cut a long story short,.. the opp. has been canceled. They want to put me on some medication.
I've got to go to my GP, he then will pull up the prep. check report and give me the med. they say I need to be on. As for the opp. I've lost my spot and I'm all the way back to the beginning on the waiting list :sauer005:I'm not a happy camper.I wasn't particularly looking foreward to this but at the same time I wanted it over with.
I would like to Thank all of you for your prays,.. I'm sorry they got wasted

Really sorry to hear about this set back for you.  :( They say that everything happens for a reason. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Sent you a PM, Pete....and NO prayer is wasted, brother.  Maybe the prayer was answered in the fact the pre-op check found something that needed attention before the operation, not after and too late.

Still a'prayin for you and Twyla in this....and will continue to do so cause at some point and God willing, the ticker will be back to normal as well as the knee back to 100%... :2vrolijk_21:

My thinking is that is a good thing they found the issue before surgery.  Would hate to go under only to have the ticket quit ticking.  Could be a blessing in disguise.

I can relate.  Had my left knee replaced in Oct. of '13.  I really had a hard time with the therapy.  They had no mercy on this Ol' boy!  It does seem to get better everyday, though.  The therapist told me sometimes it takes some people a year to recover from it and really appreciate it.  Going in for left hip replacement next Tuesday, on 3/25.  That'll make both hips, and one knee replaced.  My situation is Rheumatoid Arthritis.  Tuff to tolerate sometimes, but I know people in a lot worse shape than I am.  I'm just glad to still be here!  ;) Later--HUBBARD
