Personally , one of the things I like is no saddle bag guards. I always liked the Street Glide because it didn't have them. I was going to buy a standard RK, but costed to have the guards removed. My wife is short, so the guards always rested on the back of her legs. Each to their own  :)

I am with you, I do not like bag guards.  In fact on my 2015 CVO Road Glide Ultra I removed them one week after I got the bike.  I sued the bag supports from my wifes new Road Glide special and put the bag guards on it as she insits on having them.  I am glad my King does not have them.

yes it's new ..... http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/4-point-docking-hardware-kit-pa-01-52300354--1

In person, does the black docking hardware really look better? I was thinking that the chrome might blend in better than the orange. Am I wrong?

I like the chrome one on my orange SERK but I did already have the chrome rack and backrest from my last RK.

I have the black which I prefer but that's just what it is; a preference. I also changed the chrome saddlebag latches to black which ties in very well with or without the docking hardware.

Would you happen to have a photo of the black latches and docking hardware?

Thank you, I really would appreciate that. I am on the fence about doing the same mods. Most of the pictures posted are close ups and don't give the overall look of these mods.

$80 for two latches that you don't really see.... hmm... tough pill to swallow....  You might be better to put that money into something with more impact?

Here are some pics.  Tried to get a scale of how much black is on the bike that makes those tie in so well.  As you can see I also have the black Paul Yaffe plate which also brings the black all together.  My wife and I commented on the latches being chrome frequently and how it didn't look right and if she notices and says they should be black, they will be black.  It's a little thing but it's always is a little thing.  I think that you if you have the chrome quick attach mounting kit and chrome sissy bar the latches come together better but not with the black; imo.

Thank you very much for taking these photos. The black does look very nice. These bikes are a little tough to choose accessories for because of the chrome and black accents. For instance, I went with black pipes after much debate and love the look of them.(chrome would look nice as well) Thanks again for the photos.

The Paul Yaffe plate looks great!
Why do the tell you they work for the 13 but not the 14?
Did you have them powder coated black or did they can come in black?
Was it tough to see install?

I had the exact same question. Did you need to drill holes or any modifications to make the frame fit the bike?? Strange that they would say it DOES NOT fit 2014-2015 models. So many pictures of bikes with them. Thanks much for clarifying.

I wondered why they wouldn't fit the 14's as well but I think that's them just not updating there website as I emailed them and was told it would.  Our 'fender' hasn't changed since 09.  They do come in black and that is obviously what I got.  It comes with a connector that goes right into the other stock connector but I did have to reverse the wires for the light to work which was no biggie. There is NO modification to the fender necessary at all....works as is.  I did add some neoprene washers between the threaded mounts on the plate that go against the fender just for paint protection.  Here is our fender without the plate on and the Yaffe plate on.

Here you can see the LEDs in the plate on.
