San Diego CVO, I was looking in my 09 service manual in chapter 14 page 7. It shows how to remove and replace your security siren, but I couldn't find any details about how to troubleshoot it. There is a 9 volt rechargeable battery inside the siren box. Maybe that battery has a loose connection, or maybe your battery in your key fob needs to be replaced so that your alarm can recognize that the fob is close. Mine alarm fob needs to be within about 5 or 6 feet or the alarm will go off if the ignition is turned on or the bike gets moved. Somebody posted how to replace the 9 volt battery in the smart siren and smart siren ll, which I printed out. You can call HD and they will email you instructions, looks pretty easy, or if you want to PM me I can scan the instructions I have and email them to you. This is the first time I have read about the problem you described, I am leaning towards a possible weak battery in your keyfob. They are energizer #2032. I have never replaced the 9 volt rechargable siren alarm in my 09 so let us know if that cures the problem. CAHBIKER
