After pondering for a while, I decided to get in touch with Joe at Xtreme Demension and have him paint a Klockwerks Slicer front fender for me. I've seen pics of his work and he gets great reviews, so I'm excited to see how it turns out. Now I just have to wait about a month!
-
hey nicky!! what are you putting the fender on?
-
I'm going with the slicer on my 15 Hard Candy Mercury. I was going to go with the level, but after looking at pics, I wanna see the whole wheel!
-
I hope to see a pic... I had the same idea going on.
Where are you located that you chose XTreme ??
-
yes, please post some photos. maybe, my sesg h.c. mercury could undergo a little fender work!

X2 on Joe. :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

Nicky, you won't be disappointed. That was my chopped tour pack in the thread above. I also had him paint my docking hardware and speaker grilles to match. It all came out great, plus you won't meet a guy who cares about his work more than Joe does.I can't wait to see your fender on the bike when it's done.

Reviews like yours are why I chose him. I've never talked to him before and it seemed like we were friends!

I chose extreme because of positive reviews from this site as well. i'm in la. it was easy enough to deal with shipping lowers, and a front fender.....

I am in San Diego and I send my "stuff" to Joe. Amazing work..

It's been a week and a half....I'm anxious, but I don't want to rush him. Not to mention....it's FREEKIN winter in Chicago!
-

He said it would be a month. I ordered it January 25th, so it should be February 25-ish.....23-ish days to go.
-
Hate the wait. Fuel Moto had my bike for over 5 weeks. Did you have to send your stock fender to him for matching?

No, he's done a bunch of hard candy mercury work, so there was no need. He said I could send the side cover if I wanted, but I didn't want to risk it getting messed up or lost.
-
Sweet...So I can ride while I wait. Thats not so bad then. How much is this costing you for the fender and paint? Did he have that fender or did you get it from Klockworks?

He got the fender...it was $950.

Less than I thought it would be. I will give him a call. Thanks

At the end of January, I decided that I wants to make my scoot a little different then other 2015 Hard Candy Mercury CVO Street Glides, so i pImgot in touch with Joe at Xtreme Dimensions and got the ball rolling. Well after going over flame layout and a forum member dropping a side cover off (I'm in Chicago and they are in NJ), I finally got a progress pic....I will post more as I get them.

The other fender in the pics is yours I think. Joe said it was for an ultraviolet bike.

Now that is good to hear. I spoke with him earlier this week and he said he would be starting mine so you are probably correct (I hope!)
With any luck I will see it by the end of next week.
-
He said there was more steps in yours, but he was gonna do mine next.
-
Here is the flame pattern we came up with. It will be final taped with better tape for a smoother lines.....

Hear anything yet Nicky?

Nope...I'm gonna call tomorrow. I told him I'd rather give him another week and have it be perfect...rather then have him rush it!

Here's the deal with Joe guys. Very popular man who does High Quality Work as we all know. Jump on the waiting list and hang on for a long ride. I have been waiting since Nov on Parts and I had expected this all along. Again, what we want is Perfection and with the amount of clients he has, well you do the math. When it is all said and done time is just that. Riding around on a custom bike that we all have a vision of in our own minds is worth the wait in my mine. Joe is a Great Guy who deliveries the Goods !! You can see by all the referrals. He's worth the wait.

I'm fine with the wait...good work can't be rushed....just wish I would have known so I would not have sent him my air cleaner......
-
I get it, my only issue is more of an information thing. If you tell someone one month, then it becomes double that....and longer, a person might get anxious. I hope it's perfect!
-
Got these yesterday
-
and then this....He said the metal flake will show up and match better after the clear.
-
You have some progress atleast! I'm banking on it being another month before I get it. I'm going to get air ride installed in the next couple of weeks....id love to have it by then!
-
Mjb765, please post some pics of the fender once you have it installed. I have the same color bike and would love to see the finished product. Hopefully Joe is running the parts at the same time with the colors matching and I will get my Goodies as well.
-
Mjb765, I just looked at your pic again and had to laugh. I am positive that the side panel in the pic with your fender is mine that I sent over to Joe for color matching. Could be wrong but very interesting.

The last pic he sent me had a helmet in it....

Could be....I didn't send any of my side covers.

He told me he was down a guy and that I should have by the end of next week.

It's almost done!

That's going to look nice Nicky! He was able to pull of the 3D effect on the flames. Great job!

Get the slicer yet?
-
I have to call tomorrow with final payment and he will ship it....I should see it by the end of the week!
Cyco1450.....you have the MRI electric center stand with cross under exhaust!? Did you alter the exhaust at all? How does it work?

Nice! Looking forward to seeing it on your bike.

Cyco1450.....you have the MRI electric center stand with cross under exhaust!? Did you alter the exhaust at all? How does it work?
Yes it works with the crossover exhaust. Actually Puzzled is who I bought it from and he installed it for me. He's a distributor. I love it.
-
I believe I read somewhere that the MRI center stand only works with True Dual Cross Over Exhaust, and looking at your pics and see you have a True Dual exhaust this might be correct!

-
When they say true duals, they mean when 1 pipe goes down each side of the bike....eliminating the cross under.
-
Look at cyco1450 pics of his exhaust, it is not running each side of the bike, it however has a different Tru Dual head pipe most likely pushing the cross pipe back toward the rear wheel more allowing the center stand to retract.
From MRI web site:
ELECTRIC CENTER STAND
All MRI Electric Center Stands have been redesigned to make fitment for all customers a breeze. No more measuring is needed!
A. 2006 and Earlier
B. 2007 and 2008
NOTE: Models with Legend Air Ride: The compressor unit will need to be moved from under the bike and relocated
C. 2009 and Later:
NOTE: Does NOT work with cross under exhaust; Drag Specialties offers header kits that will convert an 09L OEM Cross Under Exhaust to work with our electric center stand. They can be found on page 470 of the 2015 Fatbook.
When they say true duals, they mean when 1 pipe goes down each side of the bike....eliminating the cross under.
-
You can run it with a cross under system, it just going to hang down a little....the disclaimer is probably to save MRI from any lawsuits.
-
He nailed it!
-
Another picture.....
-
Nice undercoating too....
-
We have progress!!
-
and more
-
Last one
-
Unbelievable work!
Another picture.....
-
Lookin going good mjb!
I'm getting some mods done to my bike...I'm dropping it off sometime this week for apes and fender install! Waiting is the hardest part!

I run an S&S True Dual head pipe. Puzzled did the install but no mods were done. I'm running a Legend's rear suspension.
-
Installed!
-
Another...........and before someone says it....I did secure the clutch line after the pic was taken!!
-
Looks AWESOME!
Mine is going on this week....every time I want to take it to get it done it FREEKIN rains!
Can you post pics of the mounting area with the spacers?
-
Spacer between fender and fork legs. Fender bolts to spacer and spacer bolts to legs. Now that I look at it I am thinking chrome hardware on the inside bolts also. Or maybe just the lockwasher.....but the Klockwerks instructions say lockwasher and regular washer....and maybe a button head allen instead since you can get to in through the wheel from the other side.
-
Klockwerks makes quality stuff. Only problem is, now you're gonna want to do a 23! Happened to me....

Don't think I am going that route.....Doesn't it take bumps harder with a 23"?
-
I dropped my bike off this afternoon for Legend Air Ride, Yaffe 10" Monkey Bars and my fender installed. I should get it back in a week to a week and a half.....so, again I wait!

It's been cold and raining in Chicago! I have a party in Saturday and Mothers Day is Sunday...and I've been working 10 hour days at work. DD Customs is doin pg the work on my bike, but he said it will take 2 weeks....so that means a week from Saturday. I'm excited for all of the stuff to get done, but I don't want to rush him at all.
-
2 weeks!!! The bars take a few hours, the fender is easy......how long can the air ride take??

Air ride is pretty easy. I'm no mechanic and I installed a Legend kit on 2 of my bikes...

He has 3 full builds going on and he had to order the air tank the mounts to the bag rail and valve bodies from Dirty Air and the Shocks from Legend. He said to be safe, May 14th.

Thanks again for your help in a pinch!

Happy to help.

The fenders look awesome!! Can you give a ballpark price for the fender and paint? I know it needs to be quoted by the painter, but a ballpark would be nice.
Thanks
