Title: 2016 CVO Street Glide
Post by: cherokeerider on May 02, 2016, 05:48:50 PM
With less than 300 miles on my new CVO I lost the right side saddle bag while riding down a straight highway. Has anyone else lost a bag on their new bike

Yes, unfortunately that has happened to other members before... currently a thread in the CVO Limited board - Warning! Bag came loose (http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=107509.0). There are other threads regarding this also... If memory serves me correctly there was an actual recall (product enhancement) done on the fasteners... you may want to check to see if yours has the updated ones.

When was the recall?
Quick search found this...
Checked the VIN on the 2015 and the following  comes up.  Recall issued yesterday.

The only reason to mess with that recall is to try to get saddlebag replaced by dealer. Some people have reported bags falling off even after recall upgrade. Go to Brukus.com (forum discount) or others make a screw in securement system that will make sure that it won't happen again. You can also buy parts at the hardware store, plenty of post on here covering that. Personally I like the ones that require no tools. Sorry to hear about your bag. I hope dealership takes care of any damage.

I'm shocked this is actually a thing that could happen.  Any good recommendations on tool free applications?

After reading this thread I will definitely install the Brukus fittings I bought over two years ago for my previous ride. Time to fit them now on my present bike. Sorry to hear of the bag dropping off.
