Has anyone up graded to the LED Motolights from the 50 watts and if so is there a big difference in the area that it cove. I have a CVO-RG and we all know that the head lights are that bright so I change to the HID light which was a large improvement but the 50 watts Motolight look yellowed compare to the HID.

YES! And it is a fantastic improvement. However, you can purchase the exact bulbs that they sell for $120.00 per pair for about $12.00 per pair from an ebay vendor. They are bright white with a 30 degree beam spread (be careful not the get the warm white ones.) I've bought a half-dozen or so, and another site member (who is local) just purchased some too and he loves them. There may be those that may think they are not as bright as the halogens, but believe me the LED's are a huge improvement both in seeing at night and being seen in the daytime. I'll post a link for the bulbs when I find it again. Beware, they come from China and it takes about 14 days to get them, but I've not had any trouble with the vendor. They are cheap enough you can order a couple of spares too.

Yep and they are fantastic in Motolights. I even replaced the MR16 halogens in some Kuryakyn bullet lights with them. They are very bright. You can buy these bulbs for just over $1.00 each if you buy them wholesale 100 at the time. So how in the heck does Motolight sell them for $120.00 a pair? I understand turning a profit, but good grief...

I called Motolights yesterday to get some information spoke with a guy there who was helpful he said that the 50 watts is brightor then the LED the they sell. The cost is $110.00 compare to the price on that ebay site of $25.00 but is the quality any good.

The LED is a bright, white light. To my eyes and the eyes of others it is brighter and whiter than their standard halogen lights. The other advantages are: they run cooler, last much longer, and consume only 4 watts, which allows them to be used without the use of a relay. The cost of $25.00 on the ebay site is for 5 bulbs, not one. The other link shows them for about 6 bucks each. I have been running them for several months now with no issues, but at that price you can afford to buy a few bulbs for spares. They appear to be the same bulbs as the ones from Motolight, just a lot cheaper coming from the vendor in China. In fact, I am running the Motolight ones on the calipers and the ones from China on the engine guard...same brightness, same color, same bulb.

Check out the HoleShot Choppers LED lighting kit for RG's and RGU's they will put white hot light out there for what seems like miles!!!

I switched to LED headlights and passing lamps a while ago. Would have switched then to the LED Motolights, but the price caused me to pause.
Now I am running these LEDS (from China) in my Motolights. They work great and several people I have ridden with have commented on how visible they are - on a bright sunny day. At night they are much better than halogens. Prior to these LEDs I was using 50w halogens. The price from Motolight on these same LEDs is ridiculous.
Be SURE you are ordering this: MR16 4W Cool White LED Spot Light 360lm 12V 30°
In small quantities they run about $6 each - shipping has been free, and takes about 2 weeks.
I checked and rechecked and could not find ANY American manufacturer for these LEDs. Appears they are all made in China. If anyone has different info, welcome it.

The difference is in the color of the light it emits. Cool white is a bright white, like a daylight color in fluorescent bulbs. Warm white is about the same color as the stock halogen bulbs, or standard light bulbs in a home lighting fixture.

I received the LED lights from Hong Kong this pass Friday and install and like stated very bright the best part they were only $25.00 compare to what Motolights wanted $110.00. It match my HID 6000K head lights no more yellow look when all lights are on.

You must have purchased 5 if you spent $25.00. Currently they are only $5.32 each. If you want LED running lights, these are the ticket ;)

Dang...just two months ago I purchased the Phase 7 TruckLite headlight and driving lights. Cost over $450 bucks for the set. Now I find out I could have LED lighting without changing the housing? Talk about bummed. :-[
Now, don't get me wrong. I love the light this set puts out. 8) It was a whole new early morning ride into work at 5:30 when it was still pitch dark then. I saw parts of the road to the side and ahead; I'd not had illuminated until changing the lights.
It would be an interesting exercise to do a comparison of the TruckLite or HD LED set up and the inexpensive bulb change on this thread. I believe so many things we put on our bikes are way overpriced; but that's just part of the territory and we suck it up and pay. It's really nice to see the possibility of this upgrade costing next to nothing.

They won't fit the standard H-D passing lamp. They are meant to replace any standard MR16 (bi-pin) lamp. Including Motolights, Kuryakyn silver bullets, etc.
