Rivera Primo Powerhouse 6 Speed VS S.E. VS others
« on: April 30, 2012, 09:01:28 PM »

Hi,
I have a 2000 FXR4 CVO that is in upgrade process. (It never stop- its a sickness that can only be cured by moore HP / Speed / Handling Upgrades. ) Which 6 Speed Tranny???
I have been online looking asking questions, reading all the tech stuff from all the smart people that have experiance with the different parts. I wanted a Baker DD6 speed tranny. Baker told me my S&S V111 (115 HP 6.3K RPM/122 TQ 3.8K RPM)was too much motor for the DD6 and they recomended the OD6 instead. The baker is high quality but alot of money.( Baker 2,100- 2,450)
The Screaminng Eagle is less money but you have to grind the case for clearance. Does any one know the HP/TQ rating for this tranny? Is the SE a direct or overdrive tranny?
Alot of people like them but the cost of tranny and the new clutch cover comes close to the price of the Baker OD6. If the S.E. is a direct drive and and will handle my motor I will probably get it.  (1,700 +300=2,000)
The other one I thought about is the RiveraPrimo Powerhouse 6 Speed that is a OD type. Two year warrenty and parts available. Does anyone have any experiance with these? Quality?  (900-1,000)
Ultima Quality? Why are they so inexpensive? Are they that bad?
I looked so much I am confused and have a headache. I want a good unit but not at thhe excessive price. But it its the only way to go then it will be hard to gather that much money. Advise?
Thanks,

I swapped my EVO motor for the Rivera Promo Powedrive 6 speed transmission and install. The motor needed minor work after 28k miles. It was a fair deal.
