Horn cover
« on: October 15, 2008, 08:56:36 AM »

A few months back I bought a new horn cover from Harley, not quite the same color as my 07 springer blue, but close. What do you think? Should keep or not? Thanks.

I don't really care for it but that's just me. I'm thinking of either getting the one there putting on the 08's and 09's or Kuryakin makes one that I think looks pretty cool.

got the Kuryakin on order since a few weeks - will post a pic when it is mounted - from the catalogue it looks much cleaner than this one   - sorry to say ..but to each his/her own - if you're happy about it just keep it.

I put the HD smooth round horn cover on mine. (check the pic below)
it kind of matches the CVO air cleaner cover..

This one looks indeed nicely aligned with the rest of the bike as it were - I may even reconsider the KA and go for this one to match my current aircleaner cover too (I got tired of that protruding side-winder thing after 3 months and went back to something more classic - I think a sidewinder fits better on 2008 / 09 models with 18"-130 front rim - but I found it slightly out of tune on my 21"er ... I anyone likes to make me an offer on it ... ;) you get it for 1/2 price - just catching dust now anyway.

If one likes the cover or not is one question, but the crappy H-D horn inside must be changed. If you have not done so, it's now time to do it. If you switch to, e.g., the Premium Air Horn Kit or something else, you solve two problems at the same time  ;D ;D

Ride safely,

I think I like the horn cover that Deuce Bigelow has on his - either that or I might just take my original to a custom paint shop here and get them to paint it the same color as my bike blue. Thanks for all your input. I still haven't made up my mind if I like my horn cover or not, and if I don't know after 2 months, that doesn't seem too  good of a sign.

Ah , don't worry mate - some colors just grow on you after a while - hang in there  :2vrolijk_21:
I once ordered a cobalt blue Road King from a 2 square inche sample leaflet - turned out the bike was friggin' purple !! I had a repaint job in mind right away but never actually got myself to actually got onto to it as started to like it as it was  :huepfenjump3:

Well, I have to admit I hoped for a little more positive response, but that's life. At least now I won't ride around thinking it looks good when everyone seems to think it looks like I glued some road kill on the side of my bike.

Just to close this one off - I'm extemely disappointed with the Kuryakin horn cover -
It looks poor compared to the "picture" in the catalogue, it's made in Korea and the quality seems medocre at best .....think best to order the HD original round one now -
