Problems with the air shifter on Destroyer
« on: May 12, 2010, 04:53:52 PM »

A good friend of mine just bought a Destroyer, and we have a little snag with the shifter. When we go from 1st to 2nd, the air won't evacuate from the cylinder making it impossible to go to 3rd, 4th and so on. The shifter switch on the handle bar checks out, as well as all the electric connections. Any ideas ?

John:

Sorry to hear of your friends problem.

The air shifter is made by Pingel and has had some difficulties over the years. Some of them are/were covered by Pingel. Having said that I would like to suggest that you visit www.1130cc.com This site was formerly known as the V-Rod Forum. I have been a member there for many years and can tell you that this site is where lots of the Destroyer racers hang out. There are also many other V-Rod racers there who use the same air shifter and will be more than happy to help solve your problem.

Regards
