Title: GROUND TRUTH - WARRANTY COMPLIANCE EPA COMPLIANT OR NON COMPLIANT SLIP ONS
Post by: slinkcvo on November 16, 2018, 06:39:15 PM
Traded my beloved blown up '16 CVO RG Ultra on a '19 SG Special couple weeks ago. Ready to set it up to my liking for touring.  I have read a ton of conflicting stuff on the internet about slip ons being non warranty compliant.  The parts guy at the selling dealer says that anything but SE parts will void warranty.  Couple questions; Is there a difference between EPA compliant and EPA non-compliant Slip ons? I am not messing with the head pipe or CAT and using a SE Street tuner.  Are dealerships really voiding warranties for slip ons? This will be my travel bike so chances are I will be out of the local dealer area if I have problems.  Really like this bike and looking forward to having it turned into a tourer but don't want any more drama.  The RG was covered under warranty and don't want to be left hanging out if I have a another failure and no warranty because of slip ons. There is letter of the law and intent. Appreciate the input.

I have epa complaint rinehart slipons and havent had any warranty issues. When you change headpipes and aftermarket tuners, you will have a problem.
