Thanks for the info alot of items mentioned will be handy for a new rider to our group this summer

Probably more important for the......uhhmmmm-mmmmmm older riders in the group.  As Soozie (Bandanagirl) mentioned, heat sickness hit a few of us last year.

The thing about it that really sucks are some of the symtoms.......denial that you have it, agitated and argumentative, etc. :nixweiss:

I have never been heat sick but I remember riding with JCZ one time thinking,
"If we don't slow down both our asses are going to be in jail"!
Does that count?

Naah. Heat sickness is really awful on a bike. I was riding long distance last year, and since it was really cold in the morning I put on full FXRG gear. During the morning a temps changed big time, and by noon I was sick. Took me more than a day to recover.

Ride safely,
Louis

You aren't alone Louis.  Last summer when we all got heat sick, we weren't exactly ourselves the next day, either.

I remember we all got in the pool to cool down but I didn't feel like I wanted to be in the pool.......had to talk myself and Terrie into just staying in it for awhile.  Heat sickness is very strange.

My long distance ride this summer should be around 2,500 miles - Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Lichtenstein and Germany.

Plus I will be going here again.

Happy days.

BD

I am so jealous of that view.  Wonder how hard it would be to ship a bike to Europe for the ride of a lifetime?

hotrod50,
Save some money and just go to Cody, Wyoming and ride the Beartooth and the Nez Pierce Highway. You will be very happy and the vista is beautiful, just like the picture of Europe.

You're right, save the money, if you are planning less than 2 month in Europe.
Did it the other way round, already 4 trip to US and always hiring the bikes
Eagleriders). Only once, we had problem, which got solved by a dealer.
