I have never been to FLA so what I am about to say is completely in ignorance. But where SHRK2TH was riding, the topo is so damn flat that it's a wonder you can see anything. I am sure it is great riding in Florida during the winter season but if it is all flat as shown, I think I would be getting bored fairly soon. I mean give me some hills, some down hill twisties, some mountains... Something to make my seat pucker other than being blind sided by a pelican. Or am I missing something here??? ...or am I maybe just jealous??? :nixweiss:
You don't have to leave the 'Burgh's city limits for all that. Seems like every time I ride over there, I get stopped at multiple red lights and they're all uphill. :P

Well after a few months of not posting on this board due to the period of frozen, white, wind blown merriness that we hillbillies call hell, I finally got a chance to try out a new windshield that I installed on Orange Crush a while back. I decided to $h!tcan the stock wind splitter and go with a Memphis Shades 17 inch that kind of follows the original design in that all the hardware is black and the bottom is really dark as well.

The new shield is the perfect height to make a nice calm pocket of air for me and all the rattling, shaking and such that the stocke mailbox piece did is gone. Happy day!!!!

Not exactly done 'to' the CVO, but for it, ordered a jack from J&S - bikes will be coming out of storage soon.
You will love the jack! After looking at so many others I took the advice to buy the best - and J&S is it for sure. One suggestion - always jack it up to the top notch as it is a more comfortable feeling for stability. I just hate the mental picture I get of my CVO lying on its side on the garage floor should it ever go over. But, not to worry; you don`t even need tie downs on the J&S as it is so solid. Good buy!!

Rode 550 miles today grabbing a few more captures on the scavenger hunt.

You're killing me Simon, still stuck at work off shore and your riding in Beautiful country.  Last Summer we were in Santa Fe, and rode the area a bit then up 84 to CO and over to Durango

Having Lived in Jacksonville FL for several years, also now going to FL, a couple times of year here is what I think.  We moved to TN from FL for the hills and curves and Mountains and lakes.

TN/NC, the Dragon 318 curves in 11 miles.  FL  11 curves in 318 miles.

That said, on of our favorite Rides is US one From Key Largo to Key West.  The ride is far from exciting or challenging.  However the beauty of having the Gulf of Mexico on on side and the Atlantic on the other sure makes it worth it.  We have done that trip 6 or 7 times now in march or April.  Headed to Key West 2 April for a nice ride and some Fun.

200 miles today in N. FL with the wife and family.  Stopped for TexMex at Chuy's in Gainesville 70 to 75 degrees all day.  Plenty of scenery with grandfather oaks completely canvasing the road with slightly rolling hills.  I'll take it for a mid March ride in short sleeves.

Yeah OBB, you are right. I can't argue with what you say. At least there are not many pelicans in the 'Burgh...to many deer, but very little pelicans. :)

I moved from WA state last year to Louisiana, after having riding many roads on the West coast for 8 Years I was excited to try some different landscape taking a trip from Monroe LA to Key West FL.  It was a great trip for scenery, N. FL along the beaches, the Everglades, into Key Largo and out to Key West. The great thing about living in this country is the diversity of the landscape wherever you go. The only complaint I have of FL is there are too many people and too many traffic lights, hard to find a road you can escape on and cruise without having to stop for traffic and lights, unless you want to ride the interstate highways......boring.  This year it will be a road trip through N Miss, TN, and KY.  Looking forward to some hills and turns and a little less traffic.....I hope!

That's a good place to start but there are much more exciting roads in that area than the Dragon IMO!  :2vrolijk_21:

Simon

Unfortunately the West coast GTG in Ouray is while I am off shore working, other wise I sure would be going.  I sure will drop you a PM when I am out that way again.

That's a good place to start but there are much more exciting roads in that area than the Dragon IMO!  :2vrolijk_21:

There sure are.  A few would be the Cherohala Skyway.  68 from Tellico into GA, 360 out of Tellico at the base of the Skyway.  Foothills parkway, Hwy 70 out of Lenoir City going west,  Hwy 30 out of Dayton going west and many more!
