Did the HD Experienced Rider Skills Class yesterday on my RGU.  Others in the class were on Heritage Softails.  Think they may have had an advantage with wheel base and seat height.  Found the figure 8 a bit harder than I thought.  Never got down to the 20 foot box but did manage 22 feet.  More practice to come.  Had to laugh a bit the instructor took one of the Street 500's with the training engine guard and laid it on the guard and carved about a 10 foot diameter scrape in the pavement.

It was pushing 35 degrees when I left home in the morning and was glad for the full fairing and heated grips/seat.

Congratulations Ron.  It's a tough class but glad you enjoyed it.

As for the heated grips, I had an opportunity to try out the heated seat this morning coming into work.  It was 32 when I left the house and as this was the first time I've owned a bike with a heated seat, I thought what the heck.  VERY NICE INDEED!  The grips I've used already so I knew I liked them but the bun warmer in the seat....best thing since sliced bread.... ;D

  Good Job

I have taken that class twice, once on my 09 SERG and once on my 12 SERG.  I took ride like a Pro on my 13 SERK.  When done, I could do a 20 foot diameter circle to the right and a 21 to the left on the King.

Can't now, out of practice, can still do a 22 on either bike the King or the SERGU.    22 foot box is great, means u turns on the road are easy

Ride like a pro has classes in north Alabama almost every weekend.  Maybe next spring after some more practice. Just don't want to lay my RGU down as its really top heavy with anything in tour pack.

If you talk with them you will find out, even if you drop your bike which most do not, you will not hurt it.

Talking with them they use protection on the engine guard and bag guards.  You are not going fast enough to go over farther than that.

I carried a towel with me, when I got to the class sight I took my bags off.  Then I had pre cut pipe insulation, the type you buy at home depot to keep pipes from freezing.  I had them pre made to fit my engine guars and rear bag supports as no bag guards.

This was a big help, knowing if I dropped it nothing would be scratched.  I did not drop it.

I have practiced on my 15 SERGU, and you are right about top heavy.  Can't quite get it as tight as the king but 22 foot box is fine, once in a while I succeed in the 20 foot box.

I have removed the rear bag guards on it as I do not like the looks and my wife wanted some on her 15 Road Glide special.

I took my 15 SESG in for a new Chrome starter today… About 2 weeks ago, I brought my bike in for the 5000 mile service and the service manager said; Did you know the paint is flaking off of your starter? I had noticed that there was two small dime sized places on the starter that the paint had flaked off but, I guess I just didn't think the MOCO would do anything about it, I was wrong. I paid the difference to go with the chrome vs a new black starter and the Moco took care of the rest. $100 bucks never looked so good.

After looking at it and getting opinions from others, everyone that seen the paint flaking off of the starter thinks it's from when I had the chrome inner primary put on. Because the place where the paint was gone was right at the bolts.

Did the Antwerp 500. 571 miles through the Belgium and Netherlands countryside. Started at 15:00 and finished at 09:30 the following morning. Very challenging as all they give you is a paper road book sheet and you have to follow it exactly to get your log book stamped at 14 checkpoints some of which are secret and not listed on the road book! Not easy in the dark in unfamiliar territory. Very tired now so it's an early night before heading back to the UK tomorrow with a very very dirty bike due to overnight rain!!

That has to be a record for tire mileage.   :2vrolijk_21:

Installed a complete Fullsac exhaust, DX header, 2" cores and the TTS tuner that was supplied with a custom map for my bike. Then a top to bottom cleaning.
