bought a oil filter today and a four pak of synthetic 20-50 amsoil. whats with that plug thats screwed into the cylinder right in front of the filter. it interferes with the oil filter remover that fits over the end of the filter. should i just remove the plug then replace it? what is it for? anyone else using amsoil?
thanks scre

What does you HD manuel say it is?? IF you don't have one, it's a well spent $50.

you're right jc. i need the other oil filter removal tool that looks like a clamp. i don't think i want to remove that plug on the cylinder, it's a piston sensor!

Another thing when changing your oil is there is no stop on the allen plug screw. I see people screwing it too far in since there is no stop. and remember,, use pipe dope...

I believe you are talking about the crank sensor, when I bought my filter wrench the shop told me how to cut it to miss the crank sensor, I will take a picture of it and try and post it.
