The dumbing down of society. I started at UCLA in 1974. Since 1929 the basic English course at UCLA was called English 1. By the seventies, there were so many students entering the university that had no chance of passing that class they had to Institute a new class called English A, referred to as bonehead English. Some years later, the university instituted an even I'm more remedial class called English B. 😢
