Title: FENDER TRIM REMOVAL
Post by: SPEEDDY49 on June 17, 2013, 02:18:43 PM
I am looking to get a Sundowner seat for some medium riding distances this summer out west. I need the lower support with a riders back rest. Do you really need to remove the fender strips or can you leave then on as long as you protect them. O my bike is a 13 CVO Custom. Thanks. PS Anyone looking to sell a road king leather tour pak

I prefer a corbin seat; some of their seats state you must remove those strips. I currently have a two up corbin and it appears to fit fine. The stock rear passenger seat actually sits on those strips, so I dont know what the difference is.....

I bought the Mustang 2 piece seat and the rear passenger pillion had fender bumpers on them that interfered with the fender strips. The bumpers were attached with rivets so, I drilled them off and removed the rivets, very simple. Now the seat sits nicely on the fender strips.

I installed a SunRay Harley heated seat on mine and at first the fender strips were fine. It was when I added the bracket for the rider's backrest that I had a problem. The rider's backrest interfered with the strips so I had to remove them.
