Title: Fairing for 2008 SERK
Post by: GregMan on March 01, 2012, 07:49:45 AM
Any one have any experience adding a fairing on their SERK.  Tried to go to HD for some original equipment but they were not helpful.  Thoughts?
Would like something that has the same features that the Street Glide has (Except guages obviously).
Thanks and safe riding.

Thank you for all the great responses and insight.  Still haven't made a call on this.  Thinkin I might bite the bullet and buy a SESG instead.  Thanks again and cheers,

Mine is a 07 SERK as you can see from the Avatar i have added Faring, Hard Bags and King Tour Pak, The Faring is detachable, its as easy to remove as the windsheild that came on these bikes, mine came from a company called Wreckless Motorcycles, Plain no radio or Gauges, But  they offer one's with a radio, Gauges you will have to buy and install yourself. Several companies out there that make the detachable fairings, one is Dragonfly, Hoppe is another one, And there is one more out there and i can't think of the name (having brain fart) it was the one i was going with until i found Wreckless Motorcycle, I think they wanted 1400.00 for a plain and i bought the one from Wreckless for 400.00 shipped from Maryville,TN to Federal Way, WA. to the painter.

Try wide open fairings out of Kansas. Best fairing for the money. I think I paid $800.00 complete with Jensen stereo (4 speakers)! I did however, just swapped out my head unit for a Clarion DVD and GPS unit, AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

I went with Dead Center (http://www.deadcentercycles.com/Products/Fairings/) and added a KlockWerks "8" Flare" Windshield, shield that I cut down to 7".  Jason Volansky laid down the paint to my specifications, great guy, great price and excellent work.  I had Dead Center provide wiring harness that was very straight forward to install under the tank console (control Wire) and then direct connect to battery + and - leads under the seat.  I have 10K miles on the fairing with no complaints, handles great up to redline in 6th gear and for sustained durations at 100 mph.  Take your pick of stereos, I have a Pioneer Nav unit with flip up 7" screen and external amp.

What I like about the fairing is its easy to access all the stereo equipment while mounted on the bike (5 allen srews), and no hardware is exposed other than allen heads where the windsheild trim is located, uses standard HD bolt pattern for trim.

Is that a clock under the tach?
I wouldn't mind one on my 03 SERK.

Do you have a P/N?

I agree.   I bought a Dragonfly fairing and the paint and gold leaf was terrible.  There are runs in the paint and the gold leaf has gaps in it.
They are going to repaint it but I dont want the same guy to do it.  Not sure what I'm going to do.   :confused5:

I have runs and dorops of paint in mine I have a local painter that's going to try to fix it but here's the deal I paid for Gene to paint it and he did but that fairing was damaged in shipping and I sent it back. They changed painters for the second one . I wish I would have kept the damaged one it was waaaay better paint job.if I had it to do again I wouldn't buy it from Dragonfly for what I paid I am very DISSAPOINTED . I'm going to start a thread with pictures and the whole story

I just ordered a Dead Center fairing for my 2008 SERK.  It goes on and off very quickly.  I added a GPS and a few factory gauges that match the look of the spedo/tach.
