Yep, I'm aware of the mirrors and forward controls also. The prior owner had the parts for the original mid controls, minus the shift linkage, so as soon as I get a new linkage the mids are going back on. I got the mirrors also, but the left side has a crack in the glass. I may try to get new glass in that and replace them also. I''m keeping the handlebars though. The bike fits real well as it is and I don't think i would like the shorter original bars.
I read the threads on the rocker box leak and was fortunate enough to find a factory service manual on Ebay. But I have been pretty overwhelmed at work the past few weeks and didn't want the bike in pieces for the time it would take me to fix it. So, fortunately, we have an excellent indie shop near me and he did them for me in 2 days. Used the James gaskets and assured me "they don't leak when I get done with them".
