On my '11, I did the drill the holes in the fender, use the strips and all that. On the '15, I used 3M emblem tape to attach to the fender on the sides. That and the one bolt up inside the fender that it tucks under and all is well. Been that way for over 36K miles now and I can move it to the next bike when the time comes.

I will look at using the tape. I have not had good luck with some of the 3M tape working like it should.

One more item to help anyone who might be wanting to do this and is looking at using a NON-HD Tri-Bar light. I was trying to figure out how I was going to make a new harness to plug into the stock wiring on the bike without have to cut & soldier the wires into the harness. I found this on Custom Dynamics website so I went over to Amazon to see if they offered it.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T6JHB76/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1  It plugs into the stock harness under the seat.

I also had bought the stock wiring harness that goes from the plug under the seat to the taillight.

69200128- WIRE HARNESS REAR LIGHTING that I'll use along with a weather pack plug. I'll post some pictures tomorrow to show what it all looks like.

OBB,
Thanks. Now I need to buy some HD speaker ready saddlebag lids and a HD rear fender extension and send then out for paint this winter. But I want to make sure first that there isn't anything else I want as far as body parts. I know I would love a set of extended saddlebags but don't have the funds for that right now. Thinking about instead getting the Kuryakyn saddlebag extensions instead and get them painted also.

Once I get home from Shark Week IX in Deadwood, SD I've got some other parts to install unless I can get them done before I head out Friday.

Can you post a picture of the extension with the bags?  I like the look of the extended fender but curious how it looks with the stock bags.  Thank you.

Nice job wild!  I wish I'd have seen this sooner.  There is a write-up on the forum for the quick disconnect conversion for the tour pack on here and he addresses the tail light wiring with the HD plug/pins part numbers needed for that.  Seems like you made it work though!!
