Installing 14" Handle Bars on 17' CVO SG

<< < (4/4)

RivRaptor:
After tilting the fairing forward to gain access to the bar clamp, I then pulled some towels around the area to catch file lings and then drilled 2 holes in the bar clamp only deep enough to mark the position on the bars.  then removed the bar clamp and finished drilling the clamp through and then tapping the 2 holes for set screws.  Then enlarged the marks in the handle bars enough to counter sink the tips of the set screws.  (Didn't want to go through and interfere with the wires in the bars)

Tapping

RivRaptor:
Only set the screws tight enough to not back out & used locktite on  them.  Didn't want them to push up on the clamp or go through and rub on the wires.  I guess time will tell now.  Will update....

Note:  The Chrome on the nerled part of the bars is probably not smart & more than likely part of the problem, plus the nerled area doesn't exactly line up with the clamping area
