Title: Error code question
Post by: jagonza1 on September 24, 2018, 09:58:33 AM
2003 road glide. So now had a long block put in and its a 103 with the Kompressor heads from the old motor and 50mm throttle body S&S power tune duals se 257 cams and direct link tuner and CVO mufflers with fulsac 2" baffles.

So this weekend after many times back for various issues and 3 times on the Dyno. I started getting error codes the engine light comes on every time I pass 85mph. One of the time I backed off to 75 and the motor ran rough for about 30 seconds and cleared. It also seems rough in the 200 rpm range to me as well. There are two codes that came up multiple times. P37 and P38. Anyone familiar with these?
Thanks
John A. Gonzales

Not familiar with those codes.  Are you running stock plugs and wires?  Coil connections clean?  Charging system voltage normal?

Yes stock plugs and wires cause dealer says anything else will trip the codes

37 Current 16 Battery voltage low
38 Current 16 Battery voltage high

You may have a bad connection somewhere, which isn't uncommon after doing major work like an engine replacement.  I would start by making certain your battery connections are clean and tight with no voltage drop between the posts and the terminals, and verify all the chassis grounds are clean and tight with no voltage drop between the ground wires and the battery ground post.

Btw, did you read those codes with a scan tool or by using the flash codes with the check engine light?  Just wondering where you got the "P" from.

Took it to the dealership and the hooked a scanaluzer. They said something about the ion Sensor in the coil but I can't find that code on line.
