Title: Gas Cap Warning
Post by: Ronhend on April 13, 2013, 11:28:50 PM
Just a heads up.

A day after washing my bike I headed to the gas station to fill up.
When I removed the gas cap, there was about 1/4 oz of water hiding under the cap. >:(
Several drops landed on top of the gas tank.
I don't think any made it into the tank. I have put about 100 miles on the bike since this happen and it shows no sign of having water in the fuel.
Water is able to get in at the cap but doesn't get passed the rubber seal just above the threads.
If you use water to wash our bike, be ready for his. :'(

Thanks for the heads up Ron  :2vrolijk_21:
Same thing happened on my FLHXSE , but as you said it didn't cause any problems .
But with that said I guess we don't want any moisture in there  :o
Cheers Dave
