The MoCo stopped putting that info on the website in 2016....gone the way of the dodo.  I used to have a link that would send me to that listing on their site even after they stopped on the main site but that doesn't work anymore, either.  It still goes to the HD site but states:

Sorry, but the page that you requested is
unavailable or its address may have changed
If you have received this error from a previously bookmarked page please go to the home page of the Harley-Davidson Web site and update your links:

I've perused the web and except for some site info here, there isn't another source similar to what Mamma Harley had....I miss it, too.

I miss it too.  It was the most accurate source of information on the CVO history.  I too had it book marked.

I sent a msg to HD Customer Service asking them to bring it back.  Didn't even get a reply.  I also had it bookmarked.

Keeping the CVO history complete probably became a bit too much to have on the company website.  What with trend lines for pricing showing a ballistic trajectory, trend lines for accompanying accessories going the other way, and needing a full staff of writers just to keep up the stories on cylinders, heads, paint, lifters, cam chests, sumping and other "accessories" no company could have time to keep all that current.

When the CVO models became nothing more than an option package built on the regular assembly line, keeping up a separate page or section on just the CVO's obviously wasn't a priority.  Kind of like how the long suffering but loyal customers weren't a priority.  I look at it this way, does your favorite auto company have a special web site or page for the owners of the "Limited" option package, or the "Platinum" option package?  The CVO these days is just another overpriced option package.

As far as I am concerned, it stopped being a CVO and started being a package when they stopped assembly by hand picked teams, and put it in with the general assembly.

As far as I am concerned, it stopped being a CVO and started being a package when they stopped assembly by hand picked teams, and put it in with the general assembly.

I may swim against the tide but that change never bothered me.  The "hand built" process shoved down an only moderately well lit hallway on wood carts without many of the better tools on the actual line was never, to me, anything special.  It was only a functional process when production numbers were very low.  Even then we occasionally found mistakes that were entirely the fault of that process.  Not unexpectedly; but still a result of that process.

That line would never support larger volume production.  So when Mother Harley eliminated any faux impression of "special" for the CVO and just started selling as many as she could the "hand built" low volume could not be supported.

My personal favorite of the issues that came up after the change was when the main production line hadn't yet become accustomed to the details of CVO production.  We saw bikes with mismatched paint scattered from one end to the other occasionally.  Since the bikes weren't mine that made me laugh.

This board is ready for a "Doom & Gloom" section.  A place for any and all who wish to bitch offer constructive criticism about stuff they like to bitch enlighten the world about.

Like the below, sort of, except mostly about Harley & how they suck more than they ever sucked, until tomorrow, when they will suck even more:

GLOOM, DESPAIR AND AGONY ON ME
From the TV Show "Hee-Haw"
Buck Owens & Roy Clark

Gloom, despair, and agony on me
Deep, dark depression, excessive misery
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all
Gloom, despair, and agony on me

We figured she was rich, loaded to the hilt
And we figured she had class like the Vanderbilts
'Cause we had heard for years how she was so well reared
How was we to know they meant the way she was built

Gloom, despair, and agony on me
Deep, dark depression, excessive misery
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all
Gloom, despair, and agony on me.

I shall endeavor to persevere, regardless.

Thanks. Best western ever made, maybe the best all time movie.
