2018 CVO ULTRA LIMITED CB OPERATION
« on: August 14, 2018, 09:02:13 AM »

Morning,

Just got my 2018 CVO last day of June 2018.  I purchased the SPH10 Wireless Headset and everything is working except.  When I turn on the CB, I can hear everyone talking to me, however I cannot transmit to them.  Are any of you folks having the same issue and if so how did you fix it.  I have tried everything nothing seems to work.  My HD dealer has tried with no luck.  They are still working on the issue with Sena.  Thanks,

Just wondering if perhaps the problem is in the headset microphone.  Have you tried it using the intercom to verify the microphone is working?

Hey, Thanks for the post.  They have swapped out the microphone.  We have not checked out the intercom thing.  Will try that.  Sena and HD Home Office have said to try another headset which we plan to do.  Pouring down rain here in KY, so will try your suggestion once I get the bike back over to HD.  HD home office says if its not the headset then its probably a problem on the bike maybe with the WHIM or something else.  Wish I still had the plug ins.  HD said they could put the plug ins on my bike but I would have to pay for that.  That's BS.  Seems HD always does stuff or fields stuff before all the bugs are worked out.  Sad to pay this much for a bike and all the stuff does not work.  At this point almost wish I had just keep my 2014 Ultra Limited.  I am sure they will get it all fixed and working but man is it frustrating.

Anything is possible.  If they've swapped out the mic and it still did not work then I would think the issue is on the bike.  Try the headset on another bike if they have one with the WHIM.

Never heard of it but I guess it is possible the CB module is defective and not transmitting.  You could check that with another bike.  Even if your mic is not transmitting audio the person on the other bike should be able to hear when you key your CB if it is transmitting a signal.

Good luck getting it sorted.  It will most likely be something simple . . . but sometimes those are the hardest things to track down.

Thanks, Probably will be something easy.  The other day I could hear people trying to talk to me but I could not transmit.  Got a pretty good tech at BGHD working the issue for me.  I will let you know what they find out.  Ride Safe my Friend.

Don't you have a buddy with a wired headset on his helmet that would plug-in and check it that way?

I could be wrong but I thought with the WHIM factory installed on the CVOs there is no plug to use a wired headset.

I didn't think the sena 10 would work with the WHIM.  I was told you had to have the MOCO wireless headset for everything to work.  I understand SENA made the set for HD but I think it has some proprietary software in it.  That way you have to use the HD unit.

Well the SPH10 works with everything on the bike except the CB, but Sena told my HD Dealer it should work with everything.  The SPH10 is HD as I understand it even though its made by Sena.  Thanks,

It may be a pairing issue. What pairing procedure did you use?
