Who is responding to ?'s
« on: October 23, 2007, 11:48:42 PM »

I have been reading some of the questions and answers regarding dyno tuning and EFI race tuner on your site. Some of the responses are very upsetting. I have been a professional dyno tuner for the past 10 years, and I am now in charge of all high performance and dyno tuning at the world's premier motorcycle institute. I would love to answer any questions that anyone has. But PLEASE, whoever is answering these questions please stop. It is frustrating to know that people are getting bad information.
Thank you for your time.

Delfi;
Welcome to the site.

There are many members here with real experience that have given good information on tuning bikes. Instead of making a blanket statement for all those answering questions to stop giving bad information why don't you step up and share your experience's with us by answering some of the questions? I have been involved with a fair bit of tuning myself but I am sure there is more to learn. My Dad always told me to learn something new every day. I look forward to your positive contributions. :2vrolijk_21:

Welcome from West Michigan!  I, too look forward to your comments and suggestions regarding tuning and dyno interpretations.  Many of the members here have good information, but all of us are willing to learn as we go.  This is more art than science, as the same factors do not produce the same results on all bikes.

Glad to have you here.

Welcome to the Premier Motorcycle Forum on the net........you need look no further.......you've found us.  Now, we look forward to viewing the dyno sheets from the 103" and 110" motors that you've tuned and your written contributions so that we can learn exactly what it is that you feel we've been doing wrong.

Some of the tuners tuning these bikes were taught at the world's premier motorcycle institute and we've had a lot of contribution from instructors at that facility.

Welcome Delfi!

Everyone here is all about the best ride their bikes can give. If you have info that matches their goal then post away!! Sometimes it IS the squeaky wheel that gets the oil.

Why do I think this is gonna cost me more money? *sighs*  :P

Just had it retuned  by the same shop but diffrent tuner and it lost hp and tq and now is runing at 260 in the oil tank . is this all an air fuel ratio mix problem or what is the problem?????????? BTW the bike is back at the dealer for round 3 on the dyno.....   what is your take on this bun warmer ..... tks

Delphi,  I can really use some help, if you can.

Three some years ago, I bought a bike and the a HD shop assured me that with a race tuner and new pipes and air cleaner they could really make it work well.  Some 500-600 $ later ----- bike runs like doo doo!  I can't find anyone to tune the race tuner, so I buy a power commander and get bike tuned 0 all is well with the world.  For lots of reasons we don't need to go into, but my power commander is disconnected and I can't quite locate it.  So bike is running off original tuned from race tuner and again, pipes are turning dark yellow and bike kind of chokes.  What should I do?

Sure would be nice to hear from you again.

Welcome to the board.  It is kinda fun sometimes.

It sounds to me like the tuners are simply looking at how the bike is running at WOT. Very few tuners spend most of there effort focusing on the mid-range and drivability issues. Do you know if they are using a load control on there dyno? Do you have a race tuner?

The next step if you don't have it already is an EFI Race Tuner.

Delphi, we welcome your input here.

You're in the New Member Introduction section of the web site.  Your questions and answers might be better served if they are viewed by all, if you'd care to start a thread in General CVO Discussion.

Delphi,
I see you are in Arizona. Do you have your own dyno and if so where are you located? I am having some motor work done and will be in need of a good tune once the break in is complete.
