You think those wires are hard just imagine how hard it would be to hide the wires on the lights he thought about putting on there. :nervous: :huepfenlol2:

i believe they are zip tied to the brake lines

BINGO!
They are and Motolites have the option of braided cable, which is a necessity for all of us here. As to choices, there aren't really any, CHROME. Oh I also go with the 50w option, for a couple of bucks, it is worth it. They have a lifetime warranty and that is even on the bulbs.

No problem there, I just plug them into the wall and use a 2 miles of extension cords, either that or mount a generator behind the seat. ;D ;D

Motolights are way cool, except for the price!

Chrome Finish 110.00
Rings:  - Chrome Grooved Rings 90.00
Bulbs:  - 50 Watt Set 15.00
Braided Cable 120.00
Harley Davidson FL Harness 60.00

Total: $760.00

That's on heck of an investment for lights!

I'm confused those prices aren't adding up to the total. :confused5:

The same could be said for a lot of stuff we buy for out bikes, but I've seen the ones on MJZ's bike and they are BRIGHT.  If it helps you to see or be seen, then it's tough to put a price on it.  They're well integrated into the bike, too, with the way they attach to the caliper mounts, which is worth somethin'.

I could "only" get them up to $600.00 on Motolight's website:

You have to go to the accessories and add the braided cable. I think they have just recently gone up on their pricing because I ordered a new set for Elvis a month ago and I think it ran about $550. :nixweiss:
I can't tell you how many times I've been told "I noticed those lights a long way off" or "Those lights really stand out, where did you get them?"

Yep, Sorry in my shopping car I left off the cost of the lights.  Just like everything else, they get you on all the ala carte stuff.  I may go with the Motolights when I put the chrome front calipers on (if the engine holds out and I don't dump the bike)!

For those that plan to install their Motolights on their 2008 SERK, here are some things to be aware of.

My chrome set of lights came with the wrong brake caliper mounting bolts. I called Motolights and they sent me another wrong pair of bolts. The Brembo brakes on my 2008 SERK required M10 X 50mm metric bolts. It took me a couple of weeks to find stainless steel metric bolts that fit the brackets and my bike. My suggestion is to pay attention to this and do not go cheap or quick by using the wrong bolts. You do not want one of these bolts snapping off when you need the ABS to stop you in a hurry.

The mounting brackets did not fit properly on my Brembo calipers. I emailed Motolights about the bracket problem (and provided them the bolt information). After waiting over a month with no response from Motolights, I proceeded to custom-fit my mounting brackets by grinding away small amounts of the brackets until they fit properly. I used the right-side factory fork mount switch for controlling my Motolights.

A friend of mine had a chrome set installed on her '07 Road Glide by her dealer. She paid $800.00. I paid $480.00 for my chrome lights, no braided cable and 2 50W lamps. The correct mounting bolts cost about $4.50. And I estimate the PITA factor as 6 on the 10-point scale. But those lights make one huge difference in seeing and being seen.
