Lexi - My 08 SERK A work in progress
« on: April 27, 2008, 04:02:59 PM »

With the riding season finally upon us in central Illinois, I'm pretty much done with any further mods that will keep me from riding until next winter's project. (Does it ever really end????) Got her done in time to ride to my son's graduation from the Police Training Institute so he can start his career in law enforcement as I'm about to end mine.

My girlfriend named my scoot "Lexi" as it helps her understand which bike I'm talking about if they each have a name. Lexi with passing lamps added, turn signals relocated, mid low detachable windshield and a FXSTC windshield bag

58mm SE throttle body with high flow injectors and SE Stage 1 58mm AC. Classic cover kit, diamond cut heads and 117 Axtell cylinders, chrome billet aliminum lifter covers

If anyone knows of a AC cover that would match the smooth horn cover, let me know.

It does say it'll not fit '08 touring models, but was wondering if the throttle body on yours is what came stock on the '08's? If not will it work the throttle body you have? :nixweiss:

Rinehart True Duals, SERT, Smart security system w/ siren and pager

To be installed: Short angled highway peg mount with matching Ironside foot peg, hard saddle bags, chopped tour pak

Painter should be set up soon. Next winter I'm thinking of a suspension upgrade. Hopefully when my daughter gets home from Iraq, she can jump on the Fat Boy, my son on the Low Glide, my lady on her RK Custom and we'll get in the wind. Everyone stay safe and keep the painted parts up.

Gary, been looking at that one. I have one coming in but the guys are not certain it will fit with this new electronic system. I think we may just have to be creative but it can probably be done. Won't be the first time. The 58mm is not stock, the 50mm is but both are a pain to find compatable parts for at this time.

Very nice looking SERK...be sure to check out the group buys section and look at the Chrome Screamin Eaqle Shift linkages. I think you'll agree that you need one of those!

Good luck with your baby GH.  I'm bias but I agree with you on the color scheme!

JW,
She's looking mighty fine!  :)  :)

On the question of whether the smooth air cleaner will fit -I was looking at the picture Dood posted and I wonder if there might be a problem with clearance to the fuel tank? I know the '08 tank is bigger and in the picture it doesn't look like there is a lot of room in that area to begin with.

Sometimes the catalog isn't completely correct when they say something will or won't fit a particular bike though.  ??? If I want something to fit bad enough sometimes I can figure out a way to make it work and still look good. Maybe a spacer or two might help, or?  ::) If it won't fit because of the throttle body that might be a tough one to "fix" tho...  :(
