In the Shop, motor knock

Well I took the SE into the dealer the other day, the motor has a knock, sounds like it's either in the bottom end or the rear jug, not sure.  They've been on the phone with the MoCo and are now awaiting "special" tools so they can continue troubleshooting.  [smiley=zwtf.gif]

I could only hear the knock after it warmed up and only at idle or just off idle.  I'll let all know what it is once resolved.

Maybe it's a stethoscope they're sending?

I don't like the way mine idles either. I have to get the idle tweaked a little higher. My complaint is mostly when the bike is cold. But still would like idle higher when it is warmed up

I'm guessin the idle is related to it being a stroked motor and the cams in it.  I'm fine with the idle besides this knock in it, not real confidence inspiring.

Mine idles rough also especially when its cold. When cold it idles at about 1200 RPM and warm just below 1000 RPM.

Mine had a knock that continued to get louder as it racked up miles. At 2700 my tech pulled the front jug off and found it had not been bored properly ( as in out of round ) from the get go. After replacing the piston and jug under warranty the motor now has the normal clattering sounds its susposed to have.

Mine seems to be in the rear jug, could be the same issue, I'll pass it on to the mech.  What year???
