Tranny/Primary bearing noise
« on: August 18, 2010, 06:02:50 PM »

 :sauer005:
Looks like I have that bearing going bad too.
Started making the gradual noise and got worse
over time.

Has anyone done the rebuild of bearings and all that jazz
on these new 6sp trannys?
If so could you please send me a list of parts needed and tools
if you did it.  If not was was the cost to have a dealer do the work?

Thanks for your time and input.

Have the primary torn down to parade rest and waiting on the parts!
Rest of the parts do in tomorrow and should have el Diablo, HAHA back on the rode.
Gonna install the Baker Bearing and the SE Compensator while at it!
Hopefully a nice test ride Saturday morning!

Took me a year and about 15000 miles to finally get HD to check trans bearings. Bad at 35000 miles replaced under extended warranty. The bike is now very quiet Not sure of cost but they replaced all bearings in trans. Really getting my moneys worth out of the extra 5 years. Billy

ALL FIXed, thanks to me and not HD! These SE bikes sure are expensive, HAHA
and not the price out the door to just buy them!

And the really great info on here and the other sites!

Did the SE Comp, new B auto adjuster and the Baker IPB!
Purring like a Kitten is all I can say and no more clunk when
starting and shifts a tad bit smoother!
Very straight forward install on all the parts and if you have the
service manual, you can easily do it!

Good luck to all with the same problem!
