I had a 84 Shovelhead that had two stripped out clutch basket bolts and it squelled a little till I fixed it, not sure its the same thing without witnessing it.  Is there lube in the primary?

primary is full, if i ease out slowly it works fine only if i release a bit to quick, i really have to ride the clutch until it fully engages then i release it all the way out,,thanks

Is your belt loose?  If you are unsure, put water on the belt and ride it.
