Here is my standard with 14" Carlini Pist apes and Fatboy risers.

Very nice look. I just got my BO this week and not sure if I want to modify handlebars yet.
I never drove one with apes before but I think your bike looks cool as hell with them.

Thanks a lot, I love them myself as well.  Much more comfortable than the stock bars.

So can anyone give specific part numbers for the new brake line, clutch line, TBW extension, wiring, etc?

I went through Magnum Shielding.  They do not have a kit made for the CVO Breakout, only the Standard Breakout.

The Standard with ABS, actually has the ABS control module located in a different location than the CVO.  They made a brake line for me that worked even though it came different than I ordered.  Since they didn't have a kit, they did not require me to purchase the lower brake line like the kit for the Standard.

If I were to order again, I would send them my stock upper brake line and tell them to make it 6 inches longer (for my bars) than stock.  That way you would get the correct degree of bend on your fittings.

The clutch line was no problem, it must be the same as a lot of other bikes.  I ordered 68 inches and should have ordered 66 inches.

For those putting apes on a CVO and wanting to relocate your turn signals:

I downloaded the service manuals for both. The Standard and the CVO have different wiring for turn signals. The CVO is controlled through the CANBUS and you have to connect at the switch housing and run wires back down through the bars to your desired location. The Standard has the turn signal wires outside the CANBUS and there is a connector under the tank on the front right. Why Harley would go to the additional expense of two wiring systems on the same bike is beyond me.

I'm checking into the idea of adding the wires to the BCM connector, if it works, it would be much easier than running them back down through the bars.  Thanks for the advice 24v!

For those that have run the wires back through the bars, what size wire did you use and how did you connect the wires? Solder or connector or both? Did you put in a multilok connection just in case you decide to change bars?

They are both controlled through the can bus btw.  Just that the standard has the option to wire them to that other plug.

Also, where do you see the different wiring in the manuals?  I have them too, what page are you looking at?

EDIT: Nevermind, found it.  Looks like those 2 wires are missing.  Throw a pin in that spot on the connector and test for voltage when the turn signal is active.  Might just work.

Yep, they are both empty.  I'll have to tap in to the running lights and to ground to take to both.   Looks like it should work on paper.   Does anyone know what size and type of wiring and connectors to use?

For the connector that is normally found under the tank on Softails, that is part # 73106-96BK.  The pins that go in that are part # 73190-96.  For the other half of that connector it is part # 73156-96BK, and the pins for that one are part # 73191-96.  The parts diagram says those pins work for 16-20 AWG wire.  I would grab 16 or 18 AWG, should be fine.

For the pins that you will need to put into the BCM connector, I am not sure which part # they are.  They are either 72222-11 or 72227-11.  Just buy 2 of each, they are like $0.40.

That should cover it.  Total parts cost probably won't be over $20-30.

Thanks 24v, that's some great information.

Through Magnum Shielding, it's a special order.  Give them a call and they'll fix you up.
