Glad you like your new bike.
I have sat on one at the Harley shop and they are nice.
But I still think the best bike is the one you don't have now.

LOL  Got me there with the link LOL!!!

I know that the best bike was the one I do not have now... and that became apparent in the first few miles riding the new one.  I was surprised on how, a bike that has the same everything (frame, engine, etc.) and the only difference is the front fairing setup, could feel sooooo different.  But no RGC CVO this year meant having to select something else.  Now I have the peace of mind of a new bike with warranty (hated worrying about engine problems that could have, possibly, never happen...but worried nonetheless ).  Just like in 2012, I told my wife that this was the last Touring bike I was buying

You EBCM!!!!! But I have to agree... after looking at that thread and seeing all he had done to that bike and how good it looked it hurt me that he let it go.

I am glad you like your new CVO King, great looking color.

My 13 CVO King and 12 CVO road glide do not feel much different at all.  I get a lot more wind on the King, but I am 6'1".  The king does feel a bit smaller but they are the same size. 

Now the Power is another Story,  I have motor work on the king, it has over 20 more hp than the Skunk, and 11 more torque. 

I love my King, but I also love my Road Glides

 A) Is it from The Motor Company?
 B) What is involved in installation?
 C) Can you get a bike as big as the SERK up on the center stand from the seat, or do you have to get off the seat?

I had the HD center stand in my '12 RGC CVO... Hated that stand beyond belief... I left it on that bike because I could not bear using it again...

The new stand in the RK is a EZ-UP Wheeldock.... Sooooo easy to use.  I can finally put the bike on the stand from the comfort of the seat...super easy....

Friends do not let friends buy the MOCO center stand....go with the EZ-UP

It will be the best mod you do... Be sure to ask for the correct one as our bikes are lowered from the factory...  For a stock height '14 RK CVO it should be CS-09L-4.  But again, a quick call to them, to confirm when you order it, does not hurt.

On another subject... I was looking at changing the spring locks in the bags for bolts...

Had the Baggerstds.com in my previous bike and left them there for the next owner (yes, I left the wrench inside the saddle bag )

For the RK, my plan is a bit different this time.  A friend had given me some butterfly bolts (similar to those in the photo) some time ago and they were just sitting in the toolbox...



I had planned to just get the standard leaf spring clip nuts  and use the bolts above, so that I do not need a tool to take off the bags.

Looks like the MOCO changed the mounts... they are thicker, they hide the clips a lot better than before... and it looks like I have to give it some additional thought on how to get a nut in there...

I haven't observed the fasteners on the new models, but if the end of the 1/4 turn pin is not exposed when it's installed in the receiver plate, then the screwdriver method of theft may not be effective on the new setup.  Perhaps The MoCo noted the problem and corrected the weakness?

Look how thick is that part that the leaf spring nut has to go over... no wonder the normal clips will not work now...





Maybe we can reuse the stock clip and modify it with a nut of some sort... I will remove them to check... but more of a weekend project.
