All depends if it says "outdoor" or "indoor"... recently some covers that have come w/CVO's are for outdoor use... originally the covers for CVO's were "indoor" only.

The one that came with my 2015 deluxe is defenitly for outdoor. It's black with a huge CVO sign on it.

The cover that came with my 2014 softail cvo is a piece of junk, the cover is impossible to fold up and put in the attached pouch. it can do more damage to the paint when installing and removing the cover. the cover is now in a landfield in ohio. could not even recycle it. I just use a flannel bed sheet indoors.
